Our public transit systems are at a crossroads: the loss of fare revenue during the height of the COVID pandemic was an easy excuse for many governments to cut service, even while essential workers used that service to get to work.
Now is the time not only for a just recovery, but also for a just transition: using public transit as a key part of Canada’s plan to shift to a net-zero carbon economy.
